What if I fail the exam?

You will need to purchase a new exam each time you need to retest. You can take the examination twice within 30 days. If you don’t pass the exam on your second attempt, you must wait 60 days from your most recent attempt before taking the exam again. No more than four attempts are allowed within a 12 month period. Retests must be proctored by a Registered ServSafe Proctor.

Are ServSafe® textbooks and online courses available in other languages?

The ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Examination (ServSafe Manager Exam) is available in an online format in English, Spanish, and Chinese. The print format of the exam is available in English, Spanish/English, Korean/English, Chinese/English, French Canadian/English, Japanese/English, and Large Print.

What is the passing score for the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Examination?

A passing score is 70% or higher.

I lost my certificate. Can I get another copy?

Yes. You can acquire a copy of your ServSafe® certificate by logging into your ServSafe® account online. If you do not have an online account or have misplaced your account information you will need to contact the National Restaurant Association at 1-800-765-2122 or by visiting their website at www.servsafe.com.

NHLRA ServSafe® Online Exam Pricing

The NHLRA is a designated testing site for the online ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification exam.

NHLRA Members - $60
Non-Members - $99

Individuals who only need to take an exam may schedule an appointment at the NHLRA Office in Concord. Appointments are available Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Individuals will receive their scores immediately following the completion of the exam. If the exam is passed, individuals will leave with their ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification in hand.

Please do not purchase an exam code from ServSafe. Our pricing includes the exam code and an administrative fee. There will be an administrative cost applied in addition to any code purchased separately from ServSafe.
