About the Fenton Family:

The Fenton Family is the backbone behind Appleseed Restaurant & Catering, Sunapee Cruises, and Fenton’s Landing, which are local staples in the Sunapee community.

Big Pete and Mary Beth started The Appleseed in 1977, bringing their sons, RePete and Tim, up in the business. In 1999 the Appleseed was hired to prepare the food for the cruises before finally deciding to purchase the boats themselves. The acquired the M.V. Kearsarge first in 2003, followed by the M.V. MT. Sunapee II in 2005. In 2016 they were offered a space in Sunapee Harbor and Fenton’s Landing was born – an over the counter deli where they serve breakfast and lunch, as well as everyday sundries.

Big Pete and Mary Beth are still involved in everyday operations, while you can find Repete as the General Manager at the Appleseed and Tim as the General Manager of Sunapee Cruises. RePete met his wife Beth while working together at the Appleseed and Tim’s wife Lacey’s family originally started the boats.

The Fentons’ impact extends well beyond their own businesses. Peter Fenton has served as President of the Lake Sunapee Region Chamber of Commerce, demonstrating his commitment to advocating for local businesses and strengthening the regional economy. In March, the Fenton Family was honored as Community Members of the Year by the Lake Sunapee Region Chamber of Commerce, a meaningful recognition of their longstanding commitment to the community. The family has built a strong reputation for giving back and supporting local organizations, community initiatives, and first responders. Their commitment to the community is woven into the way they do business and reflects the true spirit of hospitality.
