![]() By: Kimberly Houghton, Union Leader The new development project at the entrance to the Merrimack Premium Outlets, which has now been named Merrimack Park Place, will include a Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott hotel and event center. According to the site plan recently filed, the project consists of four five-story buildings, one three-story building and a smaller, 2,000-square-foot building. The structures will house not only the 120-room hotel, but also 192 multi-family apartment units, retail space, restaurants and offices. The local planning board will be presented with the official site plan next week; it has been one year since the board granted a conditional use permit for the upscale development project that encompasses more than 370,000 square feet. “Now we are into the site plan review process,” Tim Thompson, community development director, said on Tuesday. Town planners will have the first opportunity to view artist renderings of the six buildings proposed for 10 Premium Outlets Blvd.; The Monahan Companies previously acquired the 20-acre parcel for the project. One of the five-level buildings has retail and restaurant space on the bottom floor, with the hotel occupying the top floors.
The three other five-level buildings offer a combination of retail, restaurant and upper level residential units; 71 apartments will be in one building, 56 units in another building and 65 in another, according to the site plans. The three-level building provides retail and restaurant space on the bottom floor and office space on the second and third floors. The smaller, 2,000-square-foot building will be for restaurant and retail use. “We have no height restrictions in our regulations,” said Thompson. He added that there are currently no five-story residential buildings located in Merrimack, although more are being considered in separate development projects for the town.
