Sustainability Program

Tourism is New Hampshire's second largest industry. Many hotels, B & Bs, resorts and restaurants in New Hampshire recognize the importance of preserving our natural resources for our visitors, now and in the future.

Sustainable Lodging & Restaurant certified facilities develop goals and find new opportunities to improve their operations through education, employee ideas and guest feedback. They continually evaluate how their operations affect the environment and look for ways to minimize their impact by implementing programs that:

  • Reduce Energy
  • Conserve Water
  • Reduce Waste
  • Reduce/Eliminate Toxic Chemicals

Being green is also financially beneficial for certified properties. Operating costs are lowered as energy, water-use, and waste are reduced. This allows properties to provide enhanced services to their guests and a healthier environment for both thier guests and employees.

Our program thrives by sharing our love for New Hampshire with our guests, and the staff our industry employs.

Farm to Restaurant Connection

A program through the NH Department of Agriculture, the New Hampshire Farm to Restaurant Connection promotes New Hampshire Farms and Food Producers to Restaurants, Schools, Food Markets, Hospitals and the Public.
