ProStart® is a nationwide, two year culinary program for high school students that develops the best and brightest talent into tomorrow's industry leaders. From culinary techniques to management skills, ProStart's industry-driven curriculum provides real-world educational opportunities and builds practical skills and a foundation that will last a lifetime.

 

 

 

 

2017 ProStart State Invitational

 

The ProStart State Invitational is New Hampshire’s premier culinary competition featuring high school juniors and seniors. During this intense competition, participating teams demonstrate their creative abilities through the preparation of a three-course meal in 60 minutes, using only two butane burners, and all without access to running water or electricity. There is no room for error as the teams are evaluated on taste, skill, teamwork, safety and sanitation!

 

The 2017 State Invitational was held on Saturday, March 11 at UNH- Stillings Dining Hall in Durham, NH. The competition kicked off with competing school, Portsmouth High School, at 8am and ended with an awards ceremony. The competition was very tight with first place and last place only ten points apart. Our competing schools were Concord Regional Technical Center, Creteau Regional  Technology Center, Milford High School & Applied Technology Center, Mount Washington Valley Career & Technical Center, Pinkerton Academy, Plymouth Applied Technology Center, Portsmouth High School.

 

Congratulations to Pinkerton Academy! They will compete at the New England Regional ProStart Invitational on April 1st in Portland, ME. This will be great practice as they prepare to represent New Hampshire at the 2017 National ProStart Invitational in Charleston, SC from April 28-30. Good luck, Pinkerton. We're all cheering you on!

2017 National ProStart Invitational

 

The National ProStart Invitational is the country’s premier high school competition focused on restaurant management and culinary arts. The 16th Annual National ProStart Invitational will be held in Charleston, SC from April 28-30, 2017.
