The ProStart State Invitational is New Hampshire’s premier culinary competition featuring high school juniors and seniors. During this intense competition, participating teams demonstrate their creative abilities through the preparation of a three-course meal in 60 minutes, using only two butane burners, and all without access to running water or electricity. There is no room for error as the teams are evaluated on taste, skill, teamwork, safety and sanitation!
This year’s competition was held on March 5, 2016 at UNH - Stillings Dining Hall in Durham, NH. The competition began at 8:00am and concluded at 2:00pm with an awards ceremony, where the winning teams were presented with their trophies and scholarships.
The 2016 New Hampshire ProStart State Invitational had eight schools/teams competing. The winner of the state competition will move on to compete in the New England Regional ProStart Invitational on April 9, 2016 in Portland, Maine. The team will then move on to represent New Hampshire at the 2016 National ProStart Invitational in Grapevine, Texas from April 29 - May 1.

The National ProStart Invitational is the country’s premier high school competition focused on restaurant management and culinary arts. The 15th Annual National ProStart Invitational will be held in Grapevine, Texas from April 29 - May 1, 2016.
Top ProStart® students from from across the globe will compete in the event. These talented groups of students will showcase their passion and skills in front of nearly 1,000 friends and family, educators and industry leaders.
