The ProStart State Invitational is New Hampshire’s premier culinary competition featuring high school juniors and seniors. During this intense competition, participating teams demonstrate their creative abilities through the preparation of a three-course meal in 60 minutes, using only two butane burners, and all without access to running water or electricity. There is no room for error as the teams are evaluated on taste, skill, teamwork, safety and sanitation!
The 2017 State Invitational will be held on Saturday, March 11 at UNH- Stillings Dining Hall in Durham, NH. The competition will begin at 8am and culminates with an awards ceremony at approximately 2pm. The winner of the state competition will move on to compete at the New England Regional ProStart Invitational in April (date TBC) in Portland, ME. This will be great practice as they prepare to represent New Hampshire at the 2017 National ProStart Invitational in Charleston, SC from April 28-30.
The 2016 Invitational brought delicious food from our winning team, the Concord Regional Technology Center, our second and third place teams, Mount Washington Valley Career Technical Center and Somersworth Career Technical Center respectively, and our remaining competing schools from Creteau Regional Technical Center, Milford High School & Applied Technology Center, and Pinkerton Academy. We look forward to cheering you on in March!
The National ProStart Invitational is the country’s premier high school competition focused on restaurant management and culinary arts. The 16th Annual National ProStart Invitational will be held in Charleston, SC from April 28-30, 2017.
Top ProStart® students from from across the globe will compete in the event. These talented groups of students will showcase their passion and skills in front of nearly 1,000 friends and family, educators and industry leaders.
