M/S Mount Washington at Weirs Beach signals summer's on its way
By: Jess Moran

In a sign that better weather is on the way, the M/S Mount Washington ship has docked at Weirs Beach.

The crew and the community around Lake Winnipesaukee are getting ready for a fresh crowd of summer tourists.

"The ship is here. We are ready to go," Capt. Bob Duffey said. "There's no more ice in the lake. Let's get summer going."

The 230-foot vessel returned to its summer port Tuesday and will start the season on Mother's Day. The M/S Mount Washington cruises the lake through October.

"I think we offer such a good value in terms of dinner-dance cruises, the daily cruises, the kids' nights," Duffey said. "Once you look at all the different cruises that we offer and the value for the dollar, I think we are going to have a very good year, because we are competitive in that market."
