Christmas Tree Shop deal off, restaurant plan on for S. Willow St. site

A Manchester developer said he could not reach a deal to anchor his South Willow Street shopping center with a Christmas Tree Shop, and he now wants to locate a 300-seat restaurant at the shopping center.

Dick Anagnost will approach the Manchester Planning Board on Thursday evening with revised plans that also include an indoor gymnasium and a self-storage facility.

All three would be slated for his redevelopment of the shuttered Osram-Sylvania lightbulb factory at 655 S. Willow St.

Almost 1 1/2 years ago, Anagnost and Brady-Sullivan Properties announced plans to redevelop the factory into a retail shopping center. News reports at the time valued the project at $60 million, but Anagnost said this week that the project was valued at $30 million.
