LaBelle Winery gets initial OK for inn, event center By Kimberly Houghton
Amy LaBelle, owner of LaBelle Winery, said Wednesday that she is grateful the local zoning board approved most of her requests to allow a future inn, restaurant and event center to be constructed across the street from her existing winery.
On Tuesday, the Amherst Zoning Board of Adjustment granted a variance to allow the artisan village to operate within the town’s northern transitional zone. The board, however, has not yet approved a variance to allow a proposed distillery — part of LaBelle’s development plans — to be built until further review of expected water consumption is studied.
“We are very excited about the possibilities,” LaBelle said of her proposal, which will still require a site plan review by the planning board. Read more at unionleader.com.
