Margaritas Restaurant reveals expansion plans
By Karen Dandurant

Owners of a popular Seacoast restaurant are making plans for a targeted expansion into more states and adding more restaurants, even in the states in which they already have locations.

Portsmouth-based Margaritas Mexican Restaurant already has 25 locations, said President and CEO Hugo Marin

“We say we do Mexican food our way, with a bit of a twist,” Marin said. “People seem to approve and we are always evolving. Our dishes occasionally change but are always in keeping with our mission. The food is always good.”

The company has locations throughout New England and Pennsylvania, but is planning for aggressive growth through franchising in coming years after unveiling a new design prototype last month in Waltham, Massachusetts.

DeStefano & Associates, Inc. of Portsmouth recently completed the interior demolition and renovation of the existing 258-seat Margaritas in Waltham. DeStefano & Associates was also selected as the construction manager for a new 7,000-square-foot Margaritas in Northborough, Massachusetts.

By the end of this summer, Margaritas will have two new restaurants open – one through a franchise deal with Garden State Dining in Toms River, New Jersey, and another corporate location will open in Northborough, Massachusetts. Read more from fosters.com.
