Gas Light Co. reopening projected for late spring
By Elizabeth Dinan

Two months after a fire closed the Gas Light Co. restaurant, owner Paul Sorli said repairs have yet to start, but he's hoping to reopen by the end of May, or beginning of June.

Sorli said that after months of working with insurance representatives, a permit has been pulled to begin work repairing the restaurant roof this week.

"It's a very slow process," he said.

To date, Sorli said, his insurance company has conducted an investigation, evaluated the scope of the damage and coordinated with his contractor to plan repairs. He said he's had to inventory all of the contents of the large building and coordinate with inspectors to plan for reconstruction, as well as new plumbing, electrical, sprinkler and alarm systems.

Sorli said his construction manager is expected to have a schedule for rebuilding within two weeks. Read more from the seacoastonline.com.
