Buying Locally Concord, NH 4/4/2008 9:32am-A newly launched website is designed with chefs in mind. The New Hampshire Virtual Farmers Market (NHVFM) provides one stop shopping, 24/7, from the office or home. The NH VFM is found at www.nhfarms.com and is coordinated by the NH Farm to Restaurant Connection. Collaborative partners include the NH Dept. of Agriculture, Markets & Food, UNH Office of Sustainability Programs, Farm Credit Service and NH Made. Products available will change with the seasons, but a number of items will be available year round.
Networking on the Slopes Concord, NH 3/19/2008 9:32am-The New Hampshire Lodging & Restaurant Association hosted its annual Spring Ski Event on March 18, 2008 at Loon Mountain. Members from all over the state participated in a great day of skiing and snowboarding, breakfast, lunch, apres ski party, racing, raffles and awards. Over 200 people were in attendance which matches last years attendance.
A team from Panera Bread was the fastest team on the mountain, while Common Man Team 1 was the second with the team from the Sunset Hill House coming in third place. As for the individual results: Click here for Race Results
Eastern Slope Inn and InnSeason Resorts Join Greening Efforts
Concord, NH 3/13/2008 1:32pm -Green destinations are becoming common in New Hampshire. Environmentally-conscious guests have a range of options to choose from, including green resorts, B & B’s, motels and back-country lodging. The New Hampshire Lodging & Restaurant Association’s Sustainable Lodging & Restaurant Program (NHSLRP) works with all types of lodging properties and restaurants to explore more environmentally sensitive ways of providing services to their guests. The program has experienced steady increases in certification requests over the last year. The program’s popularity is a result of a conscious group of businesses, but most importantly, customers who demand a higher level of environmental awareness among the businesses that they support.
NHSLRP’s newest members are the Eastern Slope Inn in North Conway and the InnSeason Resorts South Mountain in Lincoln. The program asks that applicants commit to environmental actions in five focus areas; energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, hazardous waste reduction and education.

NHLRA has been recognized at the Best Networking Event on Skis for our Annual Spring Ski Jamboree.
Winners will be honored at a celebration to be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord.

Building the Strength of NHLRA
 Concord, NH 10/16/2006 9:30pm -The New Hampshire Lodging & Restaurant Association (NHLRA) approved the addition of four new members to its volunteer Board of Directors on Tuesday, October 16, 2007, during the 94th Annual Meeting, held this year at Radisson Hotel, Center of NH.
Composed of over 700 member properties throughout the Granite State, the NHLRA is guided by 2007-2008 Chairman Chuck Rolecek of the Premier Companies, Bedford, NH, and a volunteer Board of Directors made up of lodging and restaurant operators and industry suppliers. In addition to the broader duties of running the association, the Board implements policies and strategic plans to ensure that the association serves the best interests of the NH hospitality industry.
